NEW CATEGORIES OF WORK PERMITS

TEMPORARY HUMANITARIAN RESIDENT OF PROTECTION AND PERMANENT RESIDENT

Executive Decree No. 21 of May 28th, 2019

Effective as of May 28th, 2019.

WORK PERMIT FOR A FOREIGN WORKER AS A TEMPORARY HUMANITARIAN RESIDENT OF PROTECTION: MITRADEL may authorize a permit for a foreign worker as a temporary humanitarian resident of protection for a term of one (1) year, extendable for the same period.

Requirements: Besides the standard requirements, a Certification issued by the General Secretariat of the National Commission against Human Trafficking must be provided, following the reasoned Technical Resolution issued by the Unit for the Identification and Attention of Victims of Human Trafficking.

Cost: USD 40.00.

WORK PERMIT FOR THE FOREIGN WORKER WITH PERMANENT RESIDENT PERMIT: MITRADEL may grant a permit for a foreign worker with Permanent Residence, for a term of three (3) years, renewable for the same time.

Requirements: A legible photocopy of the permanent resident card must be provided, authenticated by the Tribunal Electoral.

Requirements to apply for an extension: The applicant must also provide: (a) certification issued by the Social Security, which proves the payment of a minimum of nine (9) consecutive installments; or (b) tax return, with its respective good standing from the Revenue Authority.

Cost: USD 100.00.

Note: A foreigner who had been condemned or linked to criminal activities such as money laundering, drug trafficking, gangs, hired killings, and terrorism will not be entitled to these permits.
