Panama has removed China from its list of nations whose nationals require special visa authorization from the Panamanian Immigration Service. Instead of an authorized visa, Chinese will need a stamped visa by the consul of Panama.

The tourist visas may be valid up to three years and may be used for multiple entries, and Chinese can stay in Panama up to 90 days per visit.

Chinese nationals, including those intending to conduct permitted business activities, may apply for tourist visas at a Panamanian consulate in China. Chinese can book their appointment to apply for the tourist visa online in the following link:

The visa's requirements are available at Chinese citizen visa petition.pdf

As under previous rules, Chinese nationals may continue to enter Panama and be issued a 30-day tourist visa, renewable twice for a total of 90 days if they are a holder of a valid Visa from Canada, the US, the Commonwealth of Australia, the Republic of Korea, the State of Japan, the UK, Northern Ireland, Republic of Singapore and any of the States that make up the European Union.

The visa granted by the countries mentioned above must be a multiple entry visa, which has been used previously in the territory of the granting State and has a validity of at least six (6) months or more at the time of entering Panama. Besides, the applicant's passport needs to be valid for at least six months. Immigration officers are also accepting the visa exemption if the holder has a valid permanent residence card of the United States.

The applicant must prove economic solvency for a minimum of USD 500.00 upon entering and show a round trip ticket and pay the USD 50.00 visa fee.
