Prospective Applicant: A Foreigner married to a Panamanian who coexists with this one in conditions of singularity, stability, and continuity.
Process: You can obtain a Provisional Residence, and after two years of the provisional permit expire, the foreigner may request permanent residence.”
Requirements for the Two-Year Provisional Residence:
- Power of Attorney and Petition. The notarization is done in Panama. Our office provides this document.
- Five (5) photographs. You can get it in the drugstore near our office. The cost is approximately USD 3.00.
- Original Passport with a validity of six months.
- Copy of each passport page duly notarized. The notarization is done in Panamá. Our office assists with this.
- Criminal record duly apostilled. The criminal record may be of the country the person has lived in for the last two years or of the country of origin.
- If you choose the first option, you must also include the duly apostilled residence card of the country you have lived in.
- Health certificate. This is obtained in Panama. Our office assists with this.
- Certified check for USD 250.00 on behalf of the National Treasury. Our office will assist with this.
- Affidavit of personal background form. Please download the form at https://media.kerycruz.com/forms/antecedentes_personales_2019.pdf
- A marriage certificate issued by the civil registry with the correspondent fiscal stamps. If the marriage was registered abroad, the marriage must be registered in the Civil Registration of Panamá.
- Certificate of Birth of the Panamanian spouse, issued by the Civil Registration with the fiscal stamps. Our office will assist with this.
- A photocopy of the current identity card of the Panamanian spouse, authenticated by the civil registry and duly stamped. Our office will assist with this.
- Certificate of birth of the children, if any.
- A letter of responsibility of the Panamanian spouse duly notarized. Our office will assist you with this.
- Document that verifies the conjugal domicile (receipt of public services, lease contract, or any other document that proves it).
- An interview of the applicant and his/her spouse. The interview could be exonerated if the applicant has children.
Requirements for Permanent Residence:
The above requirements must be submitted except for the criminal record and the certified checks to request permanent residence.
Additionally, a Good Standing of National Revenues issued by the Directorate of Revenue (Dirección General de Ingresos, DGI in Spanish) on behalf of the applicant must be required at the discretion of the National Immigration Service.
