General Considerations

• The custom department that assesses the gold and weight it works from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you do not arrive in this schedule, the gold will stay in custom until the next day. My advice is to book a flight in that schedule.
• If you are going to bring more than $2,000 in gold bullion hired a custom broker.

Process

1. Declare the gold in the custom forms that they give you in the airplane or in any other document that they give you.
2. Bring your invoice of the gold.
3. When you go through the airport scanner they will send you to the Custom Department.
4. Custom Department assesses and weigh the gold. If you are bringing gold bullion you don't have to pay import tax, but Custom Department require a payment of $73.00 for invoice that exceed US$2000.00.
5. Custom inspector will prepare a blue ticket then you must take that document to your broker in order to prepare a declaration.
