Article 9-A of Law 2 of 2011 was derogated through Law 48 of September 11, 2018. Article 9-A required that for registration at the Public Records of a new Resident Agent, the Resident Agent to be replaced issues a certification of no balance due. This certification will no longer be a requirement.

Article 9-A of Law 2 of 2011 was added by Law 52 of October 27, 2016. The article derogated read as follow:
"The certification of the resident agent is established, in which the resident agent consent must be recorded as well as that no fees for the performance of this position are due. This certification must be issued when the legal persons, through their administrative bodies, decide to change the Resident Agent. Public Notaries will not close the Deed if the resident agent certification is not recorded."
