Short Stay Visa as a Remote Worker.

This visa will be granted to:

Foreigners who intend to work remotely within the Republic of Panama for a period of nine (9) months, renewable once for the same period.

The foreigner who applies for this Visa must meet, in addition to other applicable specific requirements, with the following prerequisites:

  1. Have a work contract with a foreign transnational company, or be a self-employed worker, in the remote working model.
  2. Perform duties that have effects abroad.
  3. Receive income from a foreign source and with an annual amount not less than USD 36,000.00 or equivalent in foreign currency.
  4. Have a valid medical international insurance policy, with coverage in Panama.

Requirements:

1. Duly signed short-stay visa application form.
2. Three (3) passport-size photographs.
3. Full copy of the valid passport duly verified by a Notary Public.
4. Criminal Record duly apostilled.
5. Translation by Certified Public Translator of the Criminal Record.
6. Certificate of Good Health.
7. Criminal Record Affidavit Form.
8. Notarized copy of the medical insurance policy.
9. Translation of the medical insurance policy by an authorized public translator.
10. Certification of the existence of the foreign company.
11. Translation of the company's certificate of existence by a certified public translator.
12. Letter from the company accrediting the relationship with the employer, its position, functions, monthly income, modality of work (remote work), and its commitment to assume the expenses of return or repatriation of my client, duly apostilled.
13. Translation of the letter of employment described above by a certified public translator.
14. Employment contract
15. Translation of the employment contract by Certified Public Translator.
16. Affidavit of non-acceptance of labor offer duly authenticated by Notary Public.
17. Certified check for USD 250.00 in favor of the National Immigration Service.
18. Bank statements duly stamped, where it is accredited that the income comes from a foreign source and from the employer for which the applicant provides his services.

NOTE:  All documents issued abroad must be apostilled or legalized, as well as all documents in another language must be translated into Spanish in Panama by a certified translator register in Panama.


Renewal: The applicant must meet the same requirements submitted with the first application.

Cancellation: If the foreigner were to represent the foreign company for local activities in Panama, the Short Stay Visa will be canceled.

Cost: The approximate expenses related to the issuance of this visa are:

USD 250.00 certified check issued in favor of the National Immigration Service.

USD 50.00 - Immigration Card

USD 50.00 - Authentication of documents

USD 25.00 - Medical Exam

USD 10.00 - Legalization of documents at the Ministry of Foreigners

USD 5.00 - Registration Fee

USD 400.70 (Approximate total)
